Wedding Mas Marroch

This beautiful couple picked some really beautiful spaces to celebrate their wedding. The ceremony was held in a pretty old church in Llagostera. Afterwards, everyone moved to celebrate the rest of the wedding at Mas Marroch in Girona. This elegant venue is one of those places where every corner hides a pleasant surprise. The cocktail reception was held in an astonishing wooden-roof pergola. In the evening, an open-air candle light dinner was served in the garden. A treat was not just on the eye, all food was prepared by famous Michelin Star Chefs – the Roca brothers.

Tears of Joy

The golden light during a sunset ceremony, a father’s teary eyes as he sees his daughter in her dress, the uncontainable laughter during speeches—these are the details that give each wedding its soul. It’s in these unscripted instants that true connection reveals itself.

A Bride who went fishing

Post Wedding Photoshoot

One day after the wedding of Jorgina and Miquel in San Carles de la Rapita, Tarragona, their family boat was due to set sail from the local port. Jorgina´s father is a fisherman and he owns a large fishing boat. Also, many male members of the family work for him. We simply could not resist the opportunity to witness their return to the port after a day fishing in the Mediterranean Sea. This is how our post-wedding reportage in Delta del Ebro started.

As soon as the boat was moored, the fishermen worked really fast to download all the fish, before the fearless seagulls get to it. We felt lucky and privileged to be allowed on board in the middle of the action. Gal·la, Jorgina and Miquel´s little daughter, was delighted to see her grandfather and uncles work. And she was not afraid to inspect the daily catch and posed with a fish in her hand proving that the fishermen´s blood runs in her veins.

When the day of hard work ended in the port, we moved on to the nearby rice fields, which is the most emblematic landmark of the region. This time of the year, the luscious green rice plant is already sprouting above the ground level. The flooded black soil is still the dominating texture. In a month time, those lands will turn into endless lawns of green.

Delta del Ebro

Delta of the river Ebro is probably the most authentic and unspoiled agricultural region of Catalunya. It is also renown for its incredible, natural beaches, dunes and swamps. To show the cross section of this magical place, we ended our session by the beach, right where the river reaches the seawaters. The sunset there is so unique, that no camera can capture its true beauty.

Barcelona Engagement

Hot air, burning light, dark shadows, strong contrast of colors, that is summertime in Barcelona, a perfect place for a engagement photoshoot. This magical city transforms completely from spring to winter, August being especially hot, busy, and loud.

To me, the streets of Barcelona always mean a new photographic challenge. This is why, I never say no when I have the opportunity to photograph couples in this amazing city, my hometown, Barcelona.

Smile!!! It is not going to rain all day

Spring weddings in Spain are beautiful and May is definitely the best month to get married here. It is already warm enough to stay outdoor till late hours and, most importantly, it is still not that hot, to risk a fatal body overheating at noon*.

Anna and Matthias weren’t. They picked May and it rained!

But they are still a very lucky couple. Despite the rain, their wedding day was just perfect. They put themselves in the hands of great professionals. Blanc Trencat (ww.blanctrencat.com), a fantastic team of wedding planners and decorators from El Mariner (www.elmariner.com) made sure that the look of the place was not compromised when they moved furniture in and out with an impressive enthusiasm. During the cocktail reception, chefs from Can Jepet(www.canjepet.cat) grilled fresh prawns under a provisional roof and finger food was served inside and outside. With all the love and positive emotions in the air, nobody worried about the rain.

It is essential to remember that rain cannot ruin the day, if you are determined to have a good time. At the most, it may impose some strategic adjustments and this is why you should always have a team of positive and willing professionals at your side.

From the photographic point of view, umbrellas are fun too! They add dynamics to the photos.

Wedding venue : El Mariner

Autumn Elopement

A wedding day should be about celebrating love. Pedro and Jessica found their own, perfect way to spend it. they took a mountain hike together.

As a destination of their Elopement, they chose the national park of Aigüestortes in the Catalan Pyrenees, moreover they both agreed it had to be in autumn.

They woke up early, in a beautiful mountain village Erill La Vall. This is where Pedro took a “first look” at his bride.

Afterwards, dressed as bride and groom, they both hiked all the way to a magical spot they had chosen to exchange their vowels.

The ceremony took place right next to the waterfall – Cascada de Sant Esperit. It was an intimate moment they designed together and shared, facing the breathtaking valley – Planell d’Aigüestortes.

At this time of the year, the park astonishes with warm colours and soft light, but most importantly, it is almost deserted. The couple crossed their paths with few determined hikers, but it felt as if they had an exclusive right to be there. The Elopement was witnessed by families of cows, almost immersed in this landscape, and a herd of goats enjoying their last days of worm weather before going down to the barns for winter.

There was also time for a picnic-style, candlelight dinner that the newly-weds shared, admiring the sunset. They prepared it earlier and brought it in their backpacks.

There was not a single thing that went wrong that day. Hopefully the photos will help preserve their memories and emotions for many years to come.
